Our Clinical Standards

What We Require of Every Physiotherapist at Our Clinic

We don’t publish names until we’re certain of the quality behind them. What we can tell you is exactly what every physiotherapist at this clinic must hold — before they see a single patient.

AHPRA

Current AHPRA Registration — Non-Negotiable

Every physiotherapist must hold current, unconditional registration with AHPRA — Australia’s national health practitioner regulator. Registration is verified before any clinician joins the team and monitored continuously. You can check any practitioner’s registration status at the AHPRA public register.

APA

Australian Physiotherapy Association Membership

All clinicians are required to maintain active membership with the Australian Physiotherapy Association — the peak professional body for physiotherapy in Australia. APA membership requires ongoing continuing professional development and adherence to the national code of conduct.

Qualifications

University-Qualified — Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree

Every clinician holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s of Physiotherapy from an accredited Australian university. Our team draws from graduates of the University of Melbourne, La Trobe University and Deakin University — all of which hold accreditation with the Australian Physiotherapy Council.

CPD

Mandatory Continuing Professional Development

The Physiotherapy Board of Australia requires all registered practitioners to complete a minimum of 20 hours of CPD per year. We go further — requiring team members to attend relevant conferences, complete postgraduate training and regularly review current clinical literature.

Evidence-Based

Evidence-Based Practice — Required, Not Optional

We do not permit passive, outdated or unsupported treatment methods. Every approach used at this clinic must be supported by current clinical research. Clinicians are expected to critically appraise new evidence and update their practice accordingly — not rely on habits formed at graduation.

Patient-First

Thorough Assessment Before Any Treatment

No treatment begins at this clinic without a complete subjective and physical assessment. We don’t guess, we don’t skip steps, and we don’t apply generic protocols to individual presentations. Every patient receives an assessment appropriate to their specific condition and history.

Our Commitment to Geelong Patients

When you book at Physio Geelong Clinic, you’re not just booking a session — you’re booking a standard of care. Every clinician who sees you has passed the same threshold of qualification, registration and ongoing professional development. That standard doesn’t change based on who’s rostered on.

  • AHPRA registration verified for every clinician
  • APA membership maintained — ongoing CPD required
  • University degree from accredited Australian institution
  • Evidence-based treatment methods only
  • Full assessment before any treatment begins
  • You will never be seen by a student or unregistered provider
  • Select clinicians hold APA Sports Physiotherapy titling

What We Stand For

Our Values

These values guide every decision we make — from how we conduct assessments to how we communicate your diagnosis and what we include in your treatment plan.

Honesty

We give you accurate, evidence-based information — even when it’s not what you hoped to hear. Honest advice leads to better outcomes and more realistic recovery expectations

Thoroughness

Every patient receives a complete assessment. We don’t guess, we don’t rush, and we don’t apply a generic treatment protocol to a condition that needs a tailored approach.

Empathy

We understand that living with pain or recovering from injury affects every part of your life — your work, your family, your sport. We treat the whole person, not just the injury.

Accountability

We measure outcomes, review your progress and adjust your plan when needed. If something isn’t working, we say so and we change approach — not make excuses.

Accessibility

Quality physiotherapy should be available to every Geelong local — regardless of funding source or circumstance. We accept NDIS, WorkCover, TAC, DVA and Medicare CDM for this reason.

Evidence-Based Practice

Evidence-based practice is not a marketing phrase — it’s a commitment to using treatment methods supported by current clinical research. Our team continuously refines their skills through ongoing CPD.
